The US 15 over Indian Field Swamp Bridge Replacement consisted of replacing the existing fixed-span bridge with a new fixed-span bridge. The route was closed and detoured to allow the replacement bridge to be constructed on the existing roadway alignment. As the Lead Design Firm on the Design-Build Team, ICE advanced all aspects of the design during the procurement phase thereby greatly reducing all risks to the Contractor, United Infrastructure Group, Inc. and Owner, South Carolina Department of Transportation. The design team, comprised of all ICE employees, assembled for the procurement phase continued through final design to RFC plans to ensure the Project was completed ahead of schedule and under budget.
This project was constructed in 59 days from the day it was closed and detoured and completed 21 days ahead of schedule!
