Project Brooklyn (BMW/LCX Road over I-85) – Spartanburg, SC
This design-build project consisted of the design and construction of a two-lane road and bridge system connecting BMW Plant Spartanburg to its satellite property across I-85 at the LCX Freeman Farm Road site. The system services BMW’s onsite logistics, which is comprised mainly of full-sized tractor-trailer traffic. The design of the road and bridges was performed in accordance with SCDOT standards, specifications, and manuals in conjunction with BMW’s guidelines.
ICE served as the Lead Design Firm and provided roadway, bridge, hydraulic/hydrological, and geotechnical engineering. In addition, ICE led the utility coordination and field survey of the project.
