Overlapping the design and construction phases of a project can greatly reduce the delivery schedule and project costs and minimizes the risks for the project owner. ICE has teamed with several industry-leading contractors on recent Design-Build projects throughout the Southeast for state departments of transportation and county agencies. Since the firm’s founding, ICE has been the lead design firm on more than 25 Design-Build projects with design/construction values totaling nearly $2 Billion. These projects include bridge replacement packages consisting of more than 50 bridges combined, numerous interstate widenings and rehabilitations, new alignment highways that include new structures over streams, and mega bridge replacements over large tidal rivers.
