This design-build project consisted of the design and construction services necessary to replace and widen three overpass bridges over SR 400 to accommodate the future express lanes along SR 400. These included Pitts Road, Roberts Drive, and the Kimball Bridge Road overpass bridges. The new bridges are taller, wider structures that feature multi-use paths, sidewalks, special aesthetic pedestals, decorative fencing, and lighting. This project was advanced from the SR 400 Express Lanes project, part of the Major Mobility Investment Program (MMIP).
ICE served as the Lead Design Consultant responsible for overall design project management, roadway design, structural design, hydraulic/hydrological design, bike/pedestrian facility design, utility coordination, environmental permitting, and geotechnical design. ICE also provided construction support services through the end of construction.
