This variable scope, design-build project involved widening the existing four-lane facility to a six-lane facility for 14 miles, from McFarland Parkway to SR 369. The typical section consisted of both concrete and asphalt travel lanes, full-width shoulders, and a depressed median. As part of the project, the SR 400 bridges over Big Creek and Sawnee Creek (Lake Lanier) required widening. ICE served as the Lead Design Consultant responsible for providing design management, roadway design, bridge design, hydraulic/hydrological design, and traffic control design.
