I-85 Widening, Phase II, P.I. No. 0013545 – Jackson County, GA
This design-build project included the construction of one general-purpose northbound lane and one general-purpose southbound lane from the end of the Phase I widening (P.I. No. 110610-), north of SR 53 to north of SR 11/US 129, for a total project length of approximately 6.5 miles. The work also included replacing the mainline twin bridges over Walnut Creek, CSX Railroad, and Middle Oconee River, as well as replacing the SR 332 overpass bridge. Noise wall construction and Level 1 ITS Deployment were also included.
ICE served as the Lead Design Consultant responsible for overall design project management, roadway design, structural design including sound barrier design, hydraulic/hydrological design, utility coordination, environmental permitting, and geotechnical design.
