This design-build project consisted of widening the existing two-lane section of US 278 for approximately 1.4 miles, beginning approximately 2,200 feet south of the intersection with I-20 and the eastbound ramps to just north of Willow Springs Church Road, improving the intersections of US 278 with the I-20 eastbound and westbound ramps, and creating two new signalized intersections along US 278. The project also constructed a new location frontage road and multi-use path between US 278 and Old Mill Road on the north side of I-20 for approximately 2.75 miles.
ICE served as the Lead Design Consultant responsible for overall design project management, roadway design, structural design, bike/pedestrian facility design, hydraulic/hydrological design, traffic operations design, utility coordination, environmental permitting, environmental compliance, and geotechnical design.
