ICE Hosts NAEP-SC Lunch and Learn

October 18, 2023

ICE hosted The National Association of Environmental Professionals South Carolina (NAEP-SC) Chapter Lunch and Learn earlier this month at the West Columbia ICE Lab Business Center.

A representative from the United States Fish & Wildlife Service (USFWS), Melanie Olds (Biologist/Regulatory Team Lead | SC Ecological Services Field Office), gave a presentation on regulatory and species updates, mitigation, and the Endangered Species Act. A Q&A session on the following topics followed her presentation:

  • Who makes up the USFWS SC Ecological Services Field Office and what do they do?
  • What does the Regulatory Team do?
  • What are the most recent regulatory and species listing updates?
  • What is Section 7 and the consultation types?
  • What is the Endangered Species Act Compensatory Mitigation Policy and recent updates?

Around 30 environmental professionals attended the Lunch and Learn, including ICE’s Renee Mulholland (Senior Environmental Planner | Charleston, SC), who serves as the NAEP-SC Chapter Secretary.
