Jedburg wins ACEC-SC State Finalist Award

(Article written by Adriana Dickert, West Columbia) On February 8, 2023, American Council of Engineering Companies of South Carolina (ACEC-SC) held the Engineering Excellence Awards Gala in Columbia, SC. ICE’s I-26 Widening and S-16 (Jedburg Road) Interchange project in Berkeley County received the State Finalist award and was recognized for demonstrating the highest degree of merit and ingenuity. The goal of this $52 million project was to promote economic development, alleviate congestion, and improve the safety of local citizens and visitors. ICE served SCDOT as the Primary CE&I firm and oversaw all construction project management and construction activities to ensure Contractor compliance, construction survey verification, public relations, and quality acceptance and assurance inspection and testing in the areas of concrete, earthwork, drainage and base, erosion control, traffic control, and asphalt roadway.

Managed by Clara Farley (Ladson, SC office), the ICE Team was comprised of a highly qualified engineering, inspection, and administrative staff who met schedule milestones and administered this Project efficiently and cost-effectively. SCDOT District Bridge Engineer, Michael Turner, PE stated “The value ICE brought to SCDOT was substantial as they managed not just the project, but also the contract…We look forward to continuing our relationship with the professionals of ICE on future projects.” Congratulations to everyone involved in the successful delivery of this project and being recognized for your outstanding work!

This year’s award marks ICE’s 31st ACEC award since 2010.
